Being the first university hospital in Incheon, the hospital remains committed to caring for people with the latest medical technology, fulfilling its role as a university hospital by providing new treatments. The hospital was certified as a Medicine Medical Institution by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, selected as Accredited Institution for Cardiovascular Intervention Treatment by the Korean Society of Cardiology, and won the Minister of Health and Welfare’s Awards for Korea Health Care in 2016. The hospital acquired Grade 1 ranking in several categories such as stomach cancer, liver cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, and coronary artery bypass graft for 7 consecutive times.
The Catholic University's Incheon St. Mary's Hospital started with a humble beginning but expanded to an award-winning, recognized hospital in South Korea with its 18.500 m2 area, 37 medical departments, 16 clinics, 20 professional centers, and a brain hospital. By working with different medical departments and using cutting-edge technology such as NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) which helps find woking cancer cells, the hospital is able to achieve a high level of accuracy of diagnosis.
